Christ, nimbate, seated facing on square-backed throne, wearing tunic and pallium, raising his right hand in benediction and holding book of Gospels in his left; to left and right, IC - XC. Rev. ΙⲰ / ΔЄC/ΠΟ/ΤΗ On the left, John II Comnenus standing facing, wearing crown and loros and holding globus cruciger in his left hand; on the right, the Virgin, wearing robes, crowning the emperor with her right hand and holding maphorion in her left; above, MP. SB 1940. The flan slightly wavy and with a graffito on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
